If Romeo and Juliet were born in our days they would probably meet in a chatroom!Most teenagers use the internet for social reasons, either to communicate with their existing friends and classmates or to make new friends. They use instant messaging services like msn, chatrooms and social sites like Hi5, Myspace and Facebook. Online gaming is also very popular. They watch videos on youtube, exchange photos, songs and ideas online. It is easy to find someone who has the same interests as you, especially if you speak english! The question is whether it is safe for teenagers to surf the net without control as the internet is the mirror of our society and you never know who is really the person you are talking to! So never give your contact details to someone you meet on the internet.

Basicly i think that internet is an easy way to find the informations you want.
Althought I don't think that making friends from internet is good...! In my opinion it's dangerous!.-
I prefer my real friends because I know them better and I can trast them too ....!!!!

Well i disagree with Silia..a bit.I have actually made some friends from the internet and they have become some of my best friends too and they are not even from Crete! Because of them i have visited them and we met each other as our parents did. Although internet might be dangerous,it's still the best way to make friends communicate with them and find all the information you want and even more! The only thing we should be concerned about is viruses or buying through the internet.

i disagree with sokratis and i agree with silia because if you don't know sb's real face you don't know if he is good friend or no.and some people try making friends because they want money or something else.however internet help you to find information.nick vererakis fce1
in my opinion the internet has the negative and the positively.the positively are that you can find information about all themes,the negative are that the internet is very dangerous and is most dangerous for the teenagers becouse they don't understands the concequences that the internet has.

Even though internet is a good enough way to find the information you need,it is not probably the best solution that we could follow to find friends.As you said before you don't even know who is the person who you are speaking to.That fact makes it really dangerous.
Personally I don't use the NET to make friends. I think is better to have real friends that you know and trust.At my view internet is better to find information.
