So summer is over and those who are lucky to be in the first grade in junior High School will be happier than other students . The reason : a free netbook by the Greek government for everyone! Each student has already got a coupon worth 450€ and will be able to buy a netbook of his/her choice! Furthermore, the students will have to use the netbooks in the class as the Greek ministry of education has created digital versions of the lesson being taught in class with special activities and multimedia content! Some people believe that it will benefit the students at their lessons at school while others believe it is a waste of money! What is your view?

I think that giving new netbooks to the students is a very good step for the education.But in my opinion,they should give netbooks to the other students ,too.
Netbooks will help students understand and learn the lesson faster and easier.This is a way to make the student's life simpler...
P.S.:Mr Mantho this year will be fantastic.I don't want to come the end of this school year and lost you...We will never forget you because we like you very very much...

Well...in my opinion the using of netbooks is an excellent idea.But it's not fair to give them only in the first class of high school...Anyway...I don't really care about it!!I also like the traditional way of learning...

The first junior Hight School is very lucky, because they used the netbooks in classroom.:P It's so unfair, because the second and third junior Hight School haven't got netbooks. It's not right for the other students. :(

As a student of the second junior high school I am quite convinced that the netbooks are a watse of money because the students of this age haven't got the maturity to handle their laptop and their enthousiasm! As a result they don't pay much attention to the lesson and it might have some negative effects on their performances. It would be a better idea to buy netbooks in high school. These students have to face with more demanding tasks and more detailed notes. So the netbooks would be more useful!
P.S.:No...I am not jealous!!!

Actually, i believe that teachers are not trained to teach with a laptop. Teachers in our schools , as we all know, are very old.In my opinion, it is the teachers that should be replaced instead of giving a laptop. In addition to that , i agree with Izabella that students in the first year are just not ready to be in the class with a computer.The reason?Simple.Most of the students, don't want didn't want and will surely not want to pay attention to some teachers...therefore the government should be aware that now , they have given these students an opportunity not to pay attention and having an excuse for it. Another thing which i personally think it should be allowed,is for other students, who have a laptop, to be able to bring it with them at school. Now that's the most unfair thing. Imagine that some students don't have laptops and are envious of children who just got one. But can you image of some other children who have a laptop,and are forced to watch the younger students having one with them while they can't bring theirs?I forgot to mention that i totally agree that laptops will help the children but , in order for that to be accomplished, some teachers will have to go... (BtW i am so happy this website started the posts again :D)

I agree that it will benefit the students at their lessons.Me and the other children in the first grade in Junior High School feel lucky and happy.But,I believe that it is unfair for rest of the students of the second and third grade.I'm very happy that I have a netbook! Hellen Tzanaki C'1
My view is that it is unfair for children of primary school.Children complain they should get netbooks,too! Why only the students of first grade in junior high school they said.It's also unfair for the children of second and third grade in junior high school.

WELL I MUST INFORM STELLIOS CPE3 THAT IN OUR SCHOOL THERE IS A TEACHER SPECIALISED IN COMPUTERS... A NEW ONE(DON'T KNOW HER NAME...)IS TEACHING HER STUDENTS BY USING COMPUTERS...! COOL

I AGREE WITH ISABELLA BECAUSE IF YOU NOTICE OUR FRESHMEN AT SECONDARY SCHOOL, YOU'LL THINK THAT MAYBE THEIR PARENTS MADE A MISTAKE...
