14year old student expelled because of Facebook!

A fourteen year old school girl from Chania, Crete,  was expelled from her school in the city of Chania because she had created a group in Facebook. The name of the group " I hate the head teacher of my school" became quite popular. About 100 students from the same school who joined the group expressed their thoughts about their teachers on Facebook! When the mother of a student found out about the group she soon informed the head teacher. As a result, the girl who created the group faced the teachers' council to explain her self. Despite her apologise, the teachers' council decided that she had to be expelled from her school, setting this way an example for her behaviour.  Do you agree with the decision?

I agree with the teacher only if he/she would be a good one.][I don't agree with the teacher only if he/she would be a crazy one.][Also we live in a free country so we can express our opinion freely. Why did they punish her so hard??

I don't agree with the people because this punishment is very hard.. Why this teacher punished this child! Did she do it in front of her?? If this girl was punished so hard what would they do with the other children who make groups like this on facebook? If you search those groups,8 out of 10 are like this!! I have already joined in 50 groups like this!!! :D That would not have happened in our school.!
She would be punished for a few days!!! :D :D:D :D :D

I disagree with this decision, because the facebook was created so that anyone can write anything. Also, this group is outside school, so there is no point to expel the school girl.

I don't agree with the punishment they gave to her.
Also the faCebook was created for fun..and if the school girl have fun with that groups what's the problem?
I know it's a bit unfriendly for the head teacher but she could have solved it by speaking and telling her that this is not so good.

I agree with both . the girl who created this group because if the teacher was strict she would accept this thing and try to improve her character , but because some people don't want to accept that they are strict and bad .If they hear it from a lot of people they would try this .I think that is not right to expel the girl from the school .

I don't agree with the teacher because it was out of school and they can do anything they want, We have democracy and we can speak freely. Also the teacher did the mistake and she is not only one who created a group about a teacher.

Of course i do not agree with the punishment. We are supposed to live in a free country and we should have the right , as teachers can expell us so can we. It is quiet unfair for children not to be allowed to express their opinion without being worried. Furthermore , some teachers indeed deserve a punishment solely because they behave unacceptably towards school children during lessons. I am not talking about all teachers, but some who even hit children and actually do harm them. On the other hand , there is the opinion that we must all obey to older people than us just because they have more " experience " but i say ( without meaning anarchism ) that this is all rubbish. Years have past , things have change. And so must the teachers do.

I think that it was a quite big punishment to expel her from the school. It was only a group on facebook. There are also other groups like this. Her headmister should expel her only for a few days. Now she must feel very sad because she lost all her classmates and friends, and i think this is unfair!!!!

I don't agree with teachers' decision. This is madness!!I believe that this is not a serious cause to expel a student...There are so many other ways to punish someone. But the girl's punishment is so hurt! Why they are so strict and hard??Shame on them!!The girl lives in Chania where probably there aren't many schools.Who knows if this girl can go in another school? These teachers are so so stupid!!...

We believe that the student's beheavior was unjustifiable. she shouldn't have done a thing like that. She could have whatever opion she want about the teacher but she shouldn't make fun of her head teacher in facebook!!!!

in my opinion, the teacher could to be more lenient with the girl because she is a teenager who told her opinion and we are free to say everything we want!on the other hand, the girl was very strict with her teacher and she could not have made her opinion puplic on facebook... Personally, I believe that the behavior of the pupil wasn't right but on the other hand, the council's response was unacceptable.Whatever a student have done the teachers cannot take him the opportunity to finish the school year..As Athanasia said, there are different ways to punish someone.Ιt is also the girl's right to has her personal opinion and can express it freely..In my view, these are very extreme measures and this kid may not be able to finish her studies. For this reason I am against to those teachers..And those teachers are inhibited..They need the "punishment", not only the child.Wake up and assert your rights!

Expelled?? Are these people serious?? That thingy that girl did was not so hard to take... Apparently that girl was not the kinda girl with the best manners in the world and all they wanted to do was to get rid of her.. All they were looking for was a cause to expell her from her school.. And that facebook group was it..

I do not agree with the teachers, because the girl might had expressed those thoughts for another headteacher,so I don't think they are fair.
